Vintage Blue Bird Toffee Tin


"Blue Bird" Toffee was a brand of toffee which was made in Worcestershire, England starting in 1898 by Harry Vincent.  His toffee was originally called Harvino but after watching Maeterlink's pla "The Blue Bird of Happiness" he renamed the product. 

Blue Bird Toffee tins featured a multitude of images. This illustration is of Niagara Falls and Oakes Garden Theatre which was constructed in 1936. This tin can be dated to the 1950s  -  address listed is Hunnington, Worcestershire, England and the shape of the box - rectangle with angled corners and a slip lid. 

Great size of a tin - perfect piece to add personality or to hold treasures!
